Quiznos’ International has signed a new master franchise agreement with New-Delhi based Sub One Hospitality Services.
Denver-based Quiznos is one of America’s premier Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) chains, with around 4000 stores in over 35 countries. The 30-year old restaurant, often regarded as having pioneered the “toasted sandwich sub”, was ranked by CNN Money in 2010 as being the No. 2 most popular franchise of the past decade (after super-chain franchise Subway).
Sub One Hospitality Services, partnered in establishing the Quiznos’ outlets in Northern and Western India, is a master franchisee holder for a number of prominent Indian brands in QSR, fine dining, casual dining and cafe markets.
Quiznos’ Growth Prospects in India:
The Quiznos concept caters to the contemporary urban consumer who is often looking for a fresh, tasty alternative to conventional fast-food joints.
Quiznos believes that the increased spending capacity of India’s young and culturally diverse population, alongwith their affinity for international brands, is rapidly transforming India’s food service sector.

Quiznos, a few weeks ago, in partnership with Southern India master franchise holder Arjun Valluri, Chairman of Apollo Elixirs Pvt. Ltd., opened its flagship store for India in Film Nagar, Hyderabad. This outlet of Quiznos, also the brand’s largest international location, is a testament to the company’s expansion plans in India.
Mr. Vala indicated Quiznos’ plans to open up 10 stores in the cities of Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad by the end of 2011, and 30 by the end of 2012.
Quiznos’ partnership with Mr. Valluri is for the territories of Southern India, Goa and Sri Lanka.
Based on the trend of a large section of the urban Indian population choosing higher education, or being employed in sectors such as information technology, mobile, services and manufacturing sectors, Quiznos, along with Sub One Hospitality Services, has identified a number of potential locations for their outlets in corporate hubs and shopping malls, as well as near leading schools and colleges.

With its well-established background in commercial real estate, and its comprehensive dedicated supply chain, Sub One Hospitality Services manages and runs more than 52 restaurants across 14 cities in India. The company currently has more than 1,000 employees and manages many independent food courts in India, in addition to restaurants.
As part of their partnership agreement announcement, Quiznos and Sub One indicated that a local customization of Quiznos’ menu will mean including new custom sauces and dressings reflecting the flavours of traditional Indian cuisine, Indian grains incorporated into the bread and a broader variety of vegetarian selections.
